Cultural AI Grants: Up to SAR 500,000 for SMEs

Cultural entrepreneurs across Saudi Arabia have a new funding opportunity: non-repayable incentives of up to 500,000 SAR The program is delivered by the Cultural Development Fund (CDF) in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Quality of Life Program, with collaboration from the Saudi Data and AI Authority. Applications open in August–September 2026 and close on 29 September 2026.

The incentives are aimed at micro, small, and medium cultural businesses registered and operating in the Kingdom. The AI track spans six domains of the cultural value chain: creativity and production; preservation of heritage and cultural assets; content and knowledge development; cultural experiences and engagement; project management and operations; and governance and intellectual property.

How to apply

Applications are handled through the CDF's official electronic portal. Applicants must create an account, complete the online form, upload their project and business documentation, and submit before the 29 September 2026 deadline. The process is not run through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or other government portals.

The AI incentives sit within a wider CDF portfolio for 2025–2026 that includes six financing products and three investment funds exceeding 1.5 billion SAR, all aimed at strengthening the private sector and cultural SMEs. Another initiative, Nama' Accelerators, launched with the Ministry of Culture and the Quality of Life Program, offers sector-specific tracks starting with a Handicrafts Track tied to the "Year of Handicrafts 2025." It provides a full training journey covering craft skills, marketing, and business management, and concludes with financial incentives and support to reach local and international markets.

The Year of Handicrafts 2025 initiative also features support mechanisms such as a Crafts Hackathon, the "Lens and Craft" competition, and collaborations to raise product quality and activate digital platforms for marketing. For cultural business owners, the programs offer practical funding and training to grow and modernize their work.
