Riyadh Municipality Names Projects and Planning Director

Engineer Ibrahim bin Saleh bin Ali Al-Zamil was appointed Director of Significant Projects and Planning at the Riyadh Region Municipality, a position classified at grade 15, in February 2019. The role sits within the municipality's responsibilities for overseeing major development initiatives and planning across the capital region.

Positions of this kind are central to how large-scale urban projects are coordinated, from infrastructure to public services, in a region that continues to see rapid growth. The Director of Significant Projects and Planning typically contributes to guiding and following up on key developments that shape daily life for residents of the capital.

It is worth noting that the current status of this appointment, as of 2026, is not confirmed. Available municipal leadership information does not list Al-Zamil in that role at present, which means the position may since have changed hands.

Why it matters

For residents of the Riyadh region, leadership in projects and planning affects the pace and quality of the developments they experience, including roads, facilities, and neighborhood services. Keeping track of such appointments helps the community understand who guides the planning behind the capital's growth.

This is a personnel appointment only. No fees, application steps, or online government procedures apply to it, and it does not require any action from the public.
