Interactive robots have been introduced at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting and Interpreting the Holy Quran in Makkah, helping participants access schedules, event locations, and service information with ease.
The robots are designed to answer questions in more than 90 languages, making them a practical tool for the diverse group of contestants who travel from around the world to take part in the competition, which is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
Equipped with interactive touchscreens, the robots handle routine information requests, allowing participants to find what they need quickly without long queries or waiting. Organizers say the technology reduces time and effort for guests during the event.
Why it matters
The move reflects a growing use of smart technology to improve the visitor experience at major religious and cultural events in the Kingdom. For international participants, multilingual support removes a common barrier and helps them focus on the competition itself.
By streamlining everyday tasks such as locating venues and checking schedules, the robots offer a smoother, more welcoming experience for guests taking part in one of the region's most prominent Quran competitions.
