Jeddah Airports Company and SJ Group extended their existing partnership on 23 September 2026 to support the ongoing transformation and expansion of King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah, one of the Kingdom's busiest aviation gateways.
The renewed agreement covers programme management, integrated planning and controls, governance, digital delivery, sustainability, cost and schedule management, risk management, and the coordination of terminal and airfield projects. It is designed to keep the airport's large development programme moving efficiently across multiple work streams.
Under the partnership, SJ Group provides project-management consultancy for more than 100 KAIA capital projects, with a reported combined value of approximately SAR 3 billion. The scope also includes mentorship, knowledge transfer, and structured training for Jeddah Airports professionals in areas such as programme controls, engineering, commercial management, digital delivery, and sustainability.
Why it matters
For residents and travellers in Jeddah, the continued upgrade of KAIA aims to expand capacity and improve the overall passenger experience. The airport began phased operations at Terminal 4 on 27 September 2026, with Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir scheduled to move there first, followed by additional airlines through 3 October 2026.
The partnership announcement did not specify any passenger fees, airport-service prices, government charges, application steps, validity periods, or official digital channels, and no fee or price was stated for the partnership itself. Sعودي ليفنج will continue to follow developments as the airport's transformation progresses.
