Jeddah Airport Opens Terminal 4 With 15M Capacity

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah has launched phased operations at its new Terminal 4, beginning on September 27, 2026. The terminal adds annual capacity for up to 15 million passengers, easing pressure across the airport as travel demand continues to grow.

Spanning approximately 97,000 square metres, Terminal 4 opened with the first group of airlines moving their operations there. Wizz Air, AJet, and SalamAir were the first carriers transferred to the new facility.

The move is part of a phased transition schedule that will bring additional airlines to Terminal 4 over the following days. Fly Jinnah and Nesma Airlines were set to transfer on September 28, 2026, followed by Akasa Air on September 29. SyrianAir and Pegasus were scheduled to move on October 1, while Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair were expected to transfer on October 3. Further airline transfers are planned under the same rollout.

What travellers should know

Because operations are shifting gradually, passengers are advised to confirm the correct terminal directly with their airline before heading to the airport. Checking ahead can help avoid confusion during the transition period, particularly for those flying with the carriers already relocated.

The additional capacity is welcome news for the community in Jeddah and the wider region, offering more room for a rising number of travellers and supporting the airport's role as a key gateway to the Kingdom.
