Jeddah Joins 'First Eight' Emergency Training Push

Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi and staff from the Jeddah governorate attended the “First Eight” emergency response training course in September 2026, part of a national program to strengthen community preparedness in the critical minutes after an incident.

The “First Eight” project is a national umbrella program aimed at raising community emergency readiness during the first eight minutes after an incident — before ambulance teams arrive. The individual basic skills course trains participants in essential first aid and grants an official “First Eight” certificate, which qualifies holders to register as responders in the “Al-Mustajeeb” digital application.

How to register

Individuals can register online through the Mutaaheb training platform, then attend the designated regional training center in Jeddah to complete the theory and practical parts and receive their certificate through the same platform. Courses in Jeddah typically run in short practical formats, from four hours up to one or two days, with certification commonly valid for two years.

Establishments can sign up through a unified electronic “Facility Registration” service, submitting basic data and required attachments. Each registered establishment must train at least 10% of its employees on the First Eight course, completing this within 30 to 45 days, while an ambulance access plan and a dedicated ambulance route inside the facility must be prepared within 15 days.

The national goal for the 2026 fiscal framework is to train two million people in basic first aid through the First Eight program. Free CPR and basic life-saving training is also available to the public in Jeddah via the Mutaaheb platform, alongside community awareness sessions and hands-on “Learn a Skill” first aid courses. For residents and expats alike, these skills can make a life-saving difference in the moments that matter most.
