Jeddah University Forum Spotlights Student-Athlete Health

A forum dedicated to university sports brought together more than 350 specialists and interested participants in Jeddah, where discussions centred on developing athletic talent and supporting the health of student-athletes. The event was organised by the University of Business and Technology in cooperation with the Saudi Universities Sports Federation.

Held under the theme “Towards More Distinguished and Sustainable University Sports,” the forum covered a wide range of topics, including talent discovery and development, sports management, sports media, sports medicine, and the overall well-being of students who compete.

Focus on recovery and prevention

Sessions explored practical ways to keep athletes healthy and performing at their best, with attention to recovery, healthy nutrition, adequate sleep, and injury prevention. Participants also discussed how universities can build stronger sports-medicine programmes to better support their teams.

The gathering reflects growing interest across the Kingdom in raising the standard of university sports and giving student-athletes the resources they need to balance study, training and health. For families, students and staff in the sector, the discussions point to a more structured and sustainable approach to athletic development at the university level.
