Kitten Yoga Class Draws Interest in Riyadh

A new wellness idea is drawing attention in Riyadh, where gentle yoga classes are held alongside free-roaming kittens. Offered under the name “Gentle Yoga with Kittens” by Mamaa Yoga, the sessions use rented studio spaces, with a recurring class hosted at Balance Retreat in the Al Masiaf district of the capital.

Each session runs for 60 minutes and follows a slower-paced, beginner-friendly format built around simple postures and light breathing exercises. Kittens move freely around participants throughout the class, adding a playful atmosphere while attendees stretch and relax. Seats are described as very limited, so advance booking is required.

The Balance Retreat session in Al Masiaf is priced at SAR 199 There is no separately listed fee for adoption; the event is marketed mainly as a wellness class with kittens present, and any adoption interest is handled individually with organizers.

Booking is arranged directly through the mobile number 0557512324 or by contacting Mamaa Yoga on Instagram (@mamaa.yoga), with reservations managed via direct messages. Organizers announce the exact studio location and timing only when each session is scheduled, sharing updates and registration details through social media posts. Sessions are single 60-minute classes, with specific days and hours confirmed

Why it matters

The initiative is framed as a community wellness activity aimed at making yoga accessible to beginners, easing stress, and encouraging gentle movement in a friendly setting. The presence of kittens also creates informal opportunities for adoption interest, though the classes are not part of a formal government-run adoption program. Any adoption arising from the sessions would follow standard Saudi pet practices, and no official platforms are required to book or attend.
