Mining firm Maaden completed a $1 billion international financing in January 2026 to support its expansion plans and general corporate needs, in one of the sector's notable capital-market moves this year.
The financing was structured as a 10-year sukuk carrying an annual profit rate of 5.25%. The amount is equivalent to roughly SAR 3.75 billion, with the certificates issued at a nominal value of $200,000 each.
The securities were made available to eligible investors both inside Saudi Arabia and internationally, and the issuance was set to be listed on the International Securities Market of the London Stock Exchange.
Why it matters
Large-scale financings of this kind reflect continued investor confidence in Saudi industrial companies and the wider push to expand the Kingdom's non-oil economy. Mining is among the sectors identified for long-term growth, and additional capital allows companies to fund new projects and strengthen their operations.
The move is a corporate financing aimed at institutional and eligible investors. It is not a public service or an application process for residents or citizens, and there are no government fees, permits, or validity periods tied to it.
