PIF Launches 2026-2030 Strategy for Local Growth

The Public Investment Fund has started putting into action a new five-year strategy covering the years 2026 to 2030, after it was approved on 15 April 2026. The plan centers on strengthening the domestic economy and deepening ties with the private sector across the Kingdom.

At the heart of the strategy is the development of six competitive economic ecosystems: tourism, travel and entertainment; urban development and livability; advanced manufacturing and innovation; industrials and logistics; clean energy, water and renewables infrastructure; and NEOM. The Fund aims to expand private-sector participation, boost local content, support the wider economic transformation, and deliver sustainable financial returns.

A bigger role for the private sector

Under the new direction, companies are positioned to take part as investors, partners, and suppliers in opportunities backed by the Fund. This approach is designed to open doors for Saudi and expat-run businesses alike, from large contractors to smaller firms looking to join major projects.

Several initiatives support these goals. MUSAHAMA focuses on raising local content, while a dedicated private-sector forum and platform aim to connect businesses with investment opportunities. The Azm program supports human-capital development, alongside contractor-development and financing programs and an Accelerated Manufacturing Program.

For residents and the business community, the strategy signals continued momentum in sectors that shape daily life — tourism, housing and city living, manufacturing, logistics, and clean energy. Growth in these areas is expected to create jobs, expand services, and widen opportunities for companies operating in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond over the coming years.
