Public transport in Riyadh continues to expand as the city's bus network operates in full integration with the metro, connecting residential districts, business centers, and key destinations through main, community, and feeder routes as well as Bus on Demand service.
The feeder routes are designed to link neighborhoods directly to metro stations, making it easier for residents to complete their journeys across the capital without needing to switch to private transport. This integration is part of the operating system itself rather than a separate fee-based service, so passengers move between bus and metro seamlessly under one fare structure.
Fares begin at a minimum of SAR 4, with each ticket valid for two hours from the first check-in. Children up to six years old travel for free, while a 50% discount applies to eligible groups including seniors, students, cancer patients, and families of martyrs.
A citywide network
Riyadh's transport system is built around six metro lines and a citywide bus network. The main Riyadh Bus network alone covers 54 routes, with 2,145 stations and stops served by 679 buses. The project is overseen by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.
For residents, the growing feeder connections mean shorter walking distances to stations and more reliable options for daily commutes, shopping trips, and getting around the capital. Riyadh Public Transport support is available through 19933, the Darb app, ticket vending machine help buttons at stations, station staff, and official social media channels.
