Riyadh Launches 6 Community Sports Tournaments

Riyadh Region Municipality has launched six community sports tournaments across 11 locations in central Riyadh during September 2026, bringing neighborhood residents together through sport and a wide range of accompanying activities.

The tournaments cover a mix of team and social games, including neighborhood football, volunteer-team football, basketball, volleyball, baloot, and dominoes. The lineup is designed to appeal to different ages and interests, blending competitive sports with popular social games familiar to families across the capital.

More than sport

Alongside the matches, the program features more than 15 recreational, educational, and health-awareness events. These accompanying activities aim to make the tournaments a full community experience rather than a series of games alone, encouraging participation from residents and visitors in central Riyadh.

The initiative is the result of collaboration between 40 government, private-sector, nonprofit, and volunteer entities, reflecting a broad partnership aimed at strengthening community life in the city's central neighborhoods.

For residents and expats living in and around central Riyadh, the tournaments offer an accessible way to take part in local activity, meet neighbors, and enjoy family-friendly events across multiple locations throughout the month.
