Riyadh Starts Phase 4 of Road Axes Program

Work has begun in الرياض on the fourth phase of the Main and Ring Road Axes Program, one of the capital's largest ongoing infrastructure efforts aimed at easing traffic and improving mobility across the city.

This phase includes 4 projects spanning about 40 kilometers of roads, with a total budget of SAR 9.8 billion. Once operational, the network is designed to handle a capacity of up to 950,000 vehicles per day.

the works comprise 14 major interchanges, 33 bridges, 5 tunnels, and 6 pedestrian bridges. Together, these elements are intended to improve traffic flow, shorten travel times, and enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians.

The scale of the project reflects the continued expansion of الرياض and the rising demand on its road network. For residents and expats alike, the upgrades are expected to smooth daily commutes and connect key areas of the capital more efficiently over time.

Motorists may encounter temporary changes and detours around active work zones during construction. For any inquiries related to the program, the unified call center 19998 is available.
