Saudi Arabia's national football team recorded a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Pakistan in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match played on 16 November 2023 in Hofuf, Al-Ahsa. The game was staged at Al-Fateh Club Stadium, also known as Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium, before a crowd of 11,150 spectators.
Forward Saleh Al-Shehri set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 6th minute. He doubled the lead shortly after the restart, converting a penalty in the 48th minute to put the hosts firmly in control.
Saudi Arabia added two more goals deep into stoppage time. Abdulrahman Ghareeb found the net in the 90+1st minute, before Abdullah Radif completed the rout in the 90+6th minute to seal the 4-0 result.
Why it matters
The victory was a strong showing for the national team on home soil in front of a passionate local crowd. For football fans across the Kingdom, particularly in the Eastern Province, hosting a competitive World Cup qualifier in Hofuf underscored the growing reach of top-tier fixtures beyond the traditional venues in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The result also served as an encouraging boost for the Green Falcons in their qualifying campaign, giving supporters plenty to celebrate as the team continued its push toward the tournament.
