Saudi Arabia has been formally confirmed as the host nation for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The confirmation came after an uncontested bidding process and was ratified at an Extraordinary FIFA Congress held on 11 December 2024.
The tournament is set to make history as the first-ever 48-team World Cup held in a single host country. It is currently planned across five Saudi cities — الرياض, جدة, Al Khobar, نيوم, and Abha — with a total of 15 stadiums, including 11 newly built venues.
What this means for the community
The decision positions the Kingdom for one of the largest sporting events in the world and aligns with the country's broader development goals under رؤية السعودية 2030. For residents and expats, the tournament is expected to bring significant activity in tourism, hospitality, transport, and entertainment in the years ahead.
However, many practical details remain unpublished. As of September 2026, no official Saudi government platform — including أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, and توكلنا — is listing specific World Cup-related visa procedures, ticketing processes, or fees. FIFA ticket prices, hospitality packages, and local pricing for match tickets or fan services have not yet been officially released.
There is also no public official schedule yet for ticket sales phases, the validity of any special World Cup visas, or required steps through Saudi e-government channels. No final list of specific stadiums with confirmed match allocations, nor detailed ticket category pricing, is currently in force for spectators. Saudi Living will continue to follow developments and share verified updates as they are officially announced.
