Saudi Arabia is broadening its youth empowerment efforts with more than 20 initiatives developed under رؤية السعودية 2030, aimed at opening wider opportunities for young people across the Kingdom in work, learning, health and community life.
The youth empowerment framework is built around several core areas: economic empowerment, community participation, education and lifelong learning, health and wellbeing, and national identity and religious values. Within this framework, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development lists initiatives such as flexible work, competitive leave, diversified employment contracts, daycare support, and improvements to the work environment.
To support skills and job readiness, the ministry points young people to Taqat as the national labor portal and Doroob as the national e-training platform. Recent 2024–2026 reporting notes the strategy now includes more than 20 initiatives, six memoranda of understanding, and over one million beneficiaries reached through awareness campaigns.
On the skills side, the Waad program has entered its second phase with a goal of delivering 3 million training opportunities by 2028, while the Skill Accelerator Program aims to reach 300,000 Saudis by 2027. Together, these efforts signal a sustained focus on preparing young people for a fast-changing labor market.
For residents and families, the expansion means more accessible pathways into employment and training, along with workplace measures such as flexible hours and daycare support that can ease the balance between work and family. No specific fees, application steps, validity periods, or single official service channel for a combined "20 initiatives" package have been published, and young people are advised to rely on official platforms like Taqat and Doroob for current details.
