Saudi authorities have reiterated the Kingdom's emergency contact numbers and reporting procedures, underlining that 911 now serves as the unified nationwide number for police, fire, ambulance, and other security services across major regions, including Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province.
Callers can also dial 112 to reach emergency services from any network — and even without a SIM card. Legacy numbers remain fully active: 999 for police, 997 for ambulance and medical emergencies, 998 for fire incidents and Civil Defense, and 993 for traffic accidents inside cities.
Other key hotlines to save
For road and highway patrol issues dial 996; for coast guard and border guard emergencies dial 994; and for natural disaster alerts and Civil Defense contact 966. Motorists involved in accidents with insured vehicles can report to Najm on 920000560, while municipal service issues can be reported to the Balady hotline on 940.
Additional national lines include 990 for security and intelligence reports, 1900 for commercial violations, 1918 for customs violations, and 933 for electricity emergencies.
The 911 National Security Operations Centers operate around the clock with multilingual staff, receiving and routing millions of calls each month in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province through centralized automated systems. Digital platforms such as أبشر, توكلنا, and Balady support many reports and service requests, but authorities stress that life-threatening emergencies should be handled first through 911, 999, 997, 998, 993, and related hotlines.
Saving these numbers in advance can save valuable time in an emergency. سعودي ليفنج recommends residents and visitors keep the unified 911 number readily accessible on their phones.
