Saudi Arabia has been confirmed as host of the AFC Champions League Elite finals for the next three editions, covering the 2026–27, 2027–28, and 2028–29 seasons, with all matches to be staged inside the Kingdom.
The decision follows the successful staging of the 2026 finals in Jeddah, which were held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium. The 2026 final itself took place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on 25 April 2026.
Why it matters
Hosting Asia's premier club competition finals across three consecutive editions places Saudi Arabia at the centre of the continent's top-tier football calendar. For residents and football fans in the Kingdom, it means regular access to elite matches featuring the region's strongest clubs without the need to travel abroad.
The arrangement is also expected to draw visiting supporters and boost activity around match days, from hospitality to local services in the host cities. As the Kingdom continues to expand its role in hosting major sporting events, the three-edition commitment reinforces its position as a fixed destination for high-profile continental football.
