Saudi Delivery Orders Hit 132 Million in Q2 2026

Saudi Arabia's delivery sector continued its rapid climb in the second quarter of 2026, with delivery companies handling about 132.3 million orders — a 30.5% increase compared with the same period a year earlier,

The Riyadh region led the market by a wide margin, accounting for 44% of all recorded orders, followed by the Makkah region at 22%, the Eastern Province at 16%, and the Madinah region at 5%. The latest figure builds on 118 million orders logged in the first quarter of 2026, pointing to sustained momentum across e-commerce and last-mile delivery.

Quarterly data underlines the trend: orders rose from 103 million in Q3 2025 to 124 million in Q4 2025, then 118 million in Q1 2026, before reaching 132.3 million in Q2 2026. The growth is driven by fast-expanding logistics and online retail activity, with the last-mile delivery market projected to reach around USD 0.86 billion in 2026 and grow at roughly 7.8% annually through 2031.

Food delivery leads the surge

Online food delivery remains a major driver, with gross booking value in the Kingdom estimated at about SAR 26.5 billion in 2026, more than 65,000 restaurant locations, and around 110,000 monthly active riders nationwide. Leading app-based platforms include HungerStation, Jahez, and Keeta, with HungerStation holding roughly half the market in major cities, Jahez around 30–33%, and Keeta about 10–11%.

Local operator Jahez Group reported Q2 2026 gross merchandise value of about SAR 2.5 billion, up around 40.5% year on year, with orders rising about 15.9% quarter on quarter and a take rate near 16.5%.

For residents and expats, the numbers reflect wider choice, more restaurants, and faster last-mile service across the Kingdom's largest cities.
