Saudi Fintech Hala Raises $157M at ~$900M Valuation

Riyadh-based fintech startup Hala has completed a Series B funding round of USD 157 million (about SAR 588 million), one of the largest fintech funding rounds in the Middle East. The round closed in September 2025 and was co-led by TPG and Sanabil Investments, with participation from several regional and international venture investors.

The deal lifts Hala's post-money valuation to about USD 900 million (about SAR 3.375 billion), placing the company among the highest-valued private fintechs in Saudi Arabia.

Hala is regulated by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and focuses on providing digital accounts, payments, and financial services to Saudi micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and freelancers. The company reports serving more than 140,000 businesses across the Kingdom and processing over USD 8 billion (about SAR 30 billion) in annual transaction volume.

Why it matters

MSMEs and freelancers form a growing part of the Saudi economy, and access to fast, digital financial tools remains a key challenge for many small business owners. Hala says the fresh capital will be used to expand its product suite — including lending and embedded finance — enhance services for smaller businesses and freelancers, and support regional expansion across the Gulf and the wider MENA region.

The funding underscores continued investor confidence in Saudi Arabia's fintech sector, which has grown alongside national efforts to widen digital financial services and support small enterprises. As of now, detailed fee schedules for Hala's accounts, cards, and merchant services have not been publicly specified.
