Saudi Arabia's annual inflation rate reached 1.9% in September 2026, a slight rise from 1.8% in the previous month, reflecting continued stability in the cost of living across the Kingdom. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were unchanged compared with August.
The main driver of the yearly increase was the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels group, which rose 3.6% compared with the same month a year earlier. Transport prices climbed 2.3% year on year, while food and beverage prices increased 1.4%.
The Consumer Price Index stood at 105.8 points in September 2026, indicating modest overall growth in prices across the main spending categories.
Why it matters
For residents and expats in Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities, steady inflation means everyday budgets remain relatively predictable. Housing-related costs continue to be the largest contributor to price pressures, affecting renters and households the most, while food and transport costs are rising at a more moderate pace.
With prices holding flat month on month, the figures point to a stable economic environment that helps families and businesses plan their spending with greater confidence.
