Saudi Math Team Wins 10 Awards at APMO 2026

Saudi Arabia's national mathematics team has secured 10 awards at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO), marking another strong showing for the Kingdom's young talents on the international academic stage.

The results included 3 bronze medals and 7 certificates of commendation, reflecting a broad and consistent performance across the team. The Saudi team took part in the competition through Mawhiba in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad is one of the region's most respected mathematics contests, drawing students from across Asia and the Pacific to test their problem-solving skills at the highest level. It is worth noting that the announced Saudi results are currently described as preliminary and are expected to be confirmed officially soon.

Achievements like this matter to the wider community because they highlight the growing investment in nurturing gifted students across the Kingdom. For families in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, such results underline the opportunities available to young people who show promise in science and mathematics.

The continued success of Saudi students in international academic competitions reinforces the goals of national education and talent-development programs, which aim to equip a new generation with skills to compete globally.
