Saudi Pro League 2026-27 Kicks Off With Open Title Race

The 2026–27 Saudi Pro League got under way in Saudi Arabia, marking the 70th top-tier season and running under the Roshn Saudi League banner. The competition features 18 clubs playing 34 rounds and a total of 306 matches, beginning on 13 August 2026 and concluding on 29 May 2027.

Opening matchweek fixtures were staged across the country between 13 and 15 August. In Riyadh, the schedule included Al-Shabab vs Al-Qadsiah, Al-Diriyah vs Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal vs Al-Faisaly and Al-Nassr vs Al-Fateh. Other openers featured Abha vs Al-Hazm in Abha, Neom vs Al-Feiha in Tabuk, Al-Ettifaq vs Al-Riyadh in Dammam, Al-Taawoun vs Al-Khaleej in Buraidah, and Al-Ittihad vs Al-Kholood in Jeddah.

As of late August, early rounds are already in progress, with all 18 clubs — including Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Shabab and Neom SC — in action. The title race is widely viewed as open this term, with Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli seen as leading contenders following squad strengthening and a competitive balance across the expanded 18-team field.

The season calendar includes a winter break from 24 December 2026 to 7 February 2027 to accommodate Saudi Arabia hosting the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The summer transfer window ran from 22 July to 6 September 2026, while the winter window is set for 3 to 31 January 2027.

For fans across the Kingdom, the campaign promises a packed schedule of home fixtures in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and beyond. Official fixtures, results and league standings are published through the league's official digital channels throughout the 2026–27 season.
