Saudi Arabia's renewable-energy pipeline has reached 63.8 gigawatts across 53 projects, marking another step in the Kingdom's push to diversify its power sources.
Solar power dominates the pipeline, accounting for 81% of tracked capacity, while wind power makes up the remaining 19%. Operating renewable capacity stood at 19.3 gigawatts in 2026, with an additional eight projects totaling 7.7 gigawatts scheduled to come online during the year.
Among the projects still under development for 2026 commissioning are the Henakiyah 2 solar plant, a 400-megawatt facility in the Madinah Region, and the Rabigh 2 solar project, a 300-megawatt installation in the Makkah Region. Other listed projects include the Alghat wind farm (600 megawatts) in the Riyadh Region, the Waad Al Shamal wind project (500 megawatts) in the Northern Borders, and the Tabarjal solar plant (400 megawatts) in the Al-Jouf Region.
Why it matters
The expanding pipeline reflects steady progress toward the Kingdom's clean-energy goals under رؤية السعودية 2030. For residents and businesses, a larger share of solar and wind in the national grid supports long-term energy sustainability and helps meet rising electricity demand across the country's regions.
It is worth noting that the 63.8-gigawatt figure represents a total project pipeline, not a government fee, a consumer electricity price, or any application charge. No fees, application steps, or online procedures are connected to this statistic.
