Projects across the regions
Several large-scale solar plants anchor the pipeline. The Haden solar project in the Makkah region and the Muwayh solar project, also in Makkah, each carry a capacity of 2 gigawatts. The Khushaybi solar project in Al-Qassim is listed at 1.5 gigawatts.
Other developments under way include the Henakiyah 2 solar project at 400 megawatts in the Madinah region and the Rabigh 2 solar project at 300 megawatts in Makkah, both listed as under development. The Tabarjal solar project in Al-Jouf adds a further 400 megawatts.
On the wind side, the Alghat project in the Riyadh region is listed at 600 megawatts, while the Waad Al Shammal project in the Northern Borders region carries 500 megawatts.
The growing pipeline reflects the Kingdom's push to diversify its power mix under its long-term energy strategy. For residents, a larger share of renewable capacity supports cleaner electricity generation and is tied to broader goals of sustainable growth and job creation across several regions.
