Saudi Student Links Up Loughborough Basketball

Saudi scholarship student Rakan Alnasser has established a new partnership between the Drs. Paces initiative and Loughborough Basketball, aimed at supporting Saudi student-athletes studying abroad.

Under the agreement, Saudi participants can join Loughborough Basketball development sessions as practice players, training alongside the team. The program gives them access to intensive training, professional coaching, and an international competitive environment while they continue their academic studies.

The collaboration works in both directions. Loughborough Basketball players will take part in activities organized by the Drs. Paces running club, and the initiative's branding will appear on the team's post-game scorecards.

Why it matters

For Saudis pursuing their education overseas, the partnership offers a structured pathway to combine high-level sports development with their studies — an approach that reflects the growing emphasis on nurturing Saudi athletic talent on and off the court.

No registration process, eligibility rules, fees, validity period, or official government channel has been announced in connection with the program.
