Saudi Trade Surplus Jumps 62% to SR61.52bn in Q2 2026

Saudi Arabia recorded a merchandise trade surplus of SR61.52 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a 62% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, The gain was driven mainly by stronger oil exports.

Total merchandise exports reached SR285.98 billion during the quarter, while imports stood at SR224.46 billion. The surplus widened by about SR23.6 billion year on year, rising from roughly SR37.9 billion in the second quarter of 2025.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the surplus grew by around 60%, adding more than SR23 billion compared with the previous quarter's figure of about SR38 to SR39 billion.

Oil exports were the key contributor, reaching approximately SR203.42 billion, up around 9% year on year. Non-oil exports came in at roughly SR82.6 billion, about 7% lower than a year earlier.

For the first half of 2026, the cumulative trade surplus reached about SR154.7 billion to SR155 billion, a 53% increase year on year, with total foreign trade slightly above SR1.05 trillion.

A stronger trade surplus reflects the flow of goods into and out of the country and signals continued external demand for Saudi products.
