Saudi Vitrified Clay Pipes Cuts Capital by 70%

Saudi Vitrified Clay Pipes Company has received regulatory approval to reduce its capital by nearly 70 percent in order to offset accumulated losses, The move cuts the company's capital from SAR 150,000,000 to SAR 45,428,750.

The reduction of 69.714167 percent lowers the number of shares from 15,000,000 to 4,542,875 through the cancellation of 10,457,125 shares, at a rate of 0.69714167 of a share for every one share held. The step writes off SAR 104,571,250 of accumulated losses.

The company originally filed its capital reduction request for approval on 20 August 2026. The reduction becomes effective at the end of the second trading day after it is approved by the Extraordinary General Assembly.

the reduction will have no material impact on its liabilities, operations, or its financial, operational, or regulatory performance. It also announced its intention to carry out a subsequent capital increase through a rights issue once the reduction is completed.

Why it matters

Capital reductions of this kind are an accounting step used to clean up a company's balance sheet by absorbing losses, without changing the underlying business. For shareholders and investors following the Saudi market, the planned rights issue that follows signals the company's aim to strengthen its financial position for the next phase.
