Saudi Youth Build Careers in Automotive Training

A growing number of young Saudis are turning a passion for cars into stable, well-paid careers, as technical and vocational training programs across the Kingdom expand to meet labor-market demand under Saudi Vision 2030.

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) enrolled more than 12,000 trainees in automotive mechanics and vehicle electrical systems for the 2026 academic year, producing over 2,000 qualified specialists. TVTC offers more than 250 specializations, including automotive programs, through a network of technical colleges and institutes nationwide, with courses tied directly to job-market needs for both men and women under the Vision 2030 principle of "we learn to earn."

Demand is reflected in earnings. Experienced automotive technicians in the private sector currently earn about SAR 10,000 to SAR 15,000 Applications, training status, and services are handled through the TVTC trainee portal.

Funded pathways to work

Specialized academies are adding incentives to attract talent. The National Automotive and Vehicles Academy (NAVA) offers an Automotive Technology Associate Diploma with full tuition coverage, free accommodation for eligible students, and a monthly stipend starting from SAR 3,000 during study. Applicants must be Saudi nationals aged 18 to 25 with minimum test scores, and enrolled in TVTC-recognized pathways. Its 2024 cohort has closed, and a 2025 intake has been announced.

The Saudi-Japanese Automobile High Institute runs a training-with-employment program for 2025–2026 that provides a SAR 3,000 monthly stipend, a guaranteed job before study begins, and a diploma on completion, with an age limit of 25.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development also backs skills initiatives in vital sectors, including transportation, and requires firms to train more than 12% of their Saudi employees annually to qualify for incentives. With Vision 2030 encouraging entrepreneurship, many graduates go on to open their own workshops and automotive businesses.
