Free Gemini AI for 1M Saudi University Students

One million Saudi university students can now access a full year of Google's AI tools for free under a national digital-skills initiative launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in partnership with Google. The offer is open to students aged 18 and above, with registration available until 31 December 2026.

Eligible students can sign up through the dedicated registration page at gemini.google/students, where they must verify their university status to activate the plan. Once registration and verification are completed successfully, the free access runs for 12 months.

The package includes access to Gemini, the note-taking and research assistant NotebookLM, media-generation tools, and 400 GB of cloud storage. Together, these tools are aimed at supporting students in research, study, and everyday academic work.

Why it matters

The initiative reflects a wider national push to strengthen digital and AI skills among young Saudis. By putting advanced tools in the hands of a large number of students at no cost during their studies, the program helps build practical experience with technologies that are becoming central to the workplace.

Students should note that the plan renews at the standard paid rate after the free 12 months unless it is canceled beforehand. The exact retail price in Saudi Arabia was not specified. Anyone interested is encouraged to register before the December 2026 deadline and to review the renewal terms during sign-up.
