Registration is now open for Saudi boys and girls aged 8 to 22 years to take part in the 2026 World Robot Olympiad, the national robotics program covering all regions of the Kingdom. Sign-up runs from 24 August 2026 until 7 September 2026, with the online platform available around the clock during this period.
Students register electronically through the Mawhiba platform using a student or existing account via the dedicated link s.mawhiba.sa/ROB. During registration, participants enter their student information, school, and educational region, then select a challenge track, age category, and team composition. Participation is free of charge for Saudi students.
The program offers several competition tracks. Robot Missions features table-based autonomous robot tasks for primary (8–12), intermediate (11–15), and secondary (14–19) students, with teams of two students and one coach. Future Innovators links robotics to community or environmental problem-solving across the same age bands, also with two students and one coach. Future Engineers welcomes participants up to 22 years old with a focus on advanced engineering and robotics, while Programming Robot Missions (local participation) uses virtual simulation with one student and one coach.
A national pathway to the world stage
Participants follow local and national qualifying stages that select the teams representing Saudi Arabia at the global WRO 2026 event. The typical journey begins with registering interest through the Mawhiba portal, followed by an orientation session explaining the categories and rules.
The initiative is organized by Mawhiba in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Academy for Robotics and AI, aiming to discover technical talent and build skills in programming, engineering, artificial intelligence, and robotics among Saudi youth. For families and schools, it offers an accessible route for students to develop hands-on STEM abilities and compete both nationally and internationally.
