Saudia Cargo Doubles 777F Fleet with Four New Jets

Saudia Cargo has signed an order in Jeddah for four additional Boeing 777-200F freighter aircraft, a deal finalized on 6 July 2026 that will double its dedicated 777F fleet from four to eight aircraft once all deliveries are complete. The expansion is part of Saudia Group's cargo growth strategy tied to Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

The first new aircraft is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the remaining three arriving progressively through 2027. Overall, the four jets are due for delivery between October 2026 and May 2027, at which point the dedicated 777F fleet is targeted to reach eight operational aircraft. Before this expansion, Saudia Cargo operated four Boeing 777 freighters within its dedicated freighter fleet.

The four aircraft are being acquired through a purchase-and-leaseback arrangement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), under which DAE purchases the jets and leases them to Saudia on a long-term basis. The publicly available information does not disclose any prices, lease rates, or transaction values.

Why it matters

Saudia Cargo says the expanded fleet aims to reinforce Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics hub connecting East and West, extending cargo reach across four continents and adding capacity on key international trade lanes. As of August 2026, the carrier reports operating 10 freighter aircraft in total across its network, with the 777F fleet forming a core part of that dedicated capacity.

For residents and businesses, stronger air-freight capacity through Jeddah and other hubs can support faster shipping links and growing trade volumes. The move is a commercial transaction between the airline, the manufacturer, and the lessor, and involves no government e-platforms or published fees for the public.
