Saudi authorities are calling on parents to complete the required school-entry health examination for new students joining first grade, as part of preparations for the 1448 AH academic year. To date, school-fitness examinations have been completed for around 332,931 new students, including the basic vaccinations required before enrollment.
The examination targets children entering first grade in Saudi schools. Appointments are booked through the Sehhaty application: log in, open the Appointments section, choose "Book an Appointment," select a primary healthcare center, then pick the Family Medicine Clinic, choose a date and time, and confirm. The visit takes place at a primary healthcare center.
On the day of the appointment, families should bring the student's family ID or residence permit, the original vaccination certificate, and the child must attend with a parent or guardian. No fee is specified for the examination.
What the examination covers
The screening includes a review of medical and family history, verification of vaccinations, measurement of height and weight, body-mass-index calculation, and a clinical examination. It also checks eyesight, hearing, speech, and dental and oral health. After the visit, results are recorded, the student's educational pathway may be determined, and any cases needing attention are referred for follow-up.
Completing the screening before school entry helps ensure children begin the year healthy, with vaccinations up to date and any health concerns identified early. Parents are encouraged to book their appointments through Sehhaty and the Ministry of Health's primary healthcare centers ahead of the new academic year.
