The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) and King Abdulaziz University (KAU) have signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2026 to encourage regular physical activity among the university's students and the surrounding community in Jeddah.
The partnership centres on community sport and healthy lifestyles in line with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to raise daily physical activity levels for both students and local residents. Under the agreement, KAU — through its Deanship of Student Affairs — will allocate and prepare on-campus sports facilities and halls, ensuring access, equipment readiness, and organisational support for events.
SFA, for its part, will design, organise, and supervise the joint programs, making sure they meet approved operational standards throughout the implementation period. Planned activities include running races, motivational programs, and a range of community sports events designed to build an engaging sporting environment on campus.
The MoU sets an annual target of at least 500 participants in the programs and events organised through this cooperation. The framework forms part of SFA's wider community sports strategy, using the KAU campus as a hub to strengthen the presence of community sport in Jeddah.
Why it matters
For students and Jeddah residents, the agreement means more accessible opportunities to take part in organised sport close to home. As of mid-2026, available information describes the type of cooperation and programs, but does not specify participation fees, price lists, or paid memberships. Registration and communication are handled at the university and federation level, through the KAU Deanship of Student Affairs and SFA channels, rather than national digital platforms.
