Tabby Wins New Consumer & SME Finance Licenses in Saudi

Tabby has secured three financing licenses from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), allowing it to expand its services for both shoppers and small businesses across Saudi Arabia. The company now holds a consumer finance licence, an SME finance licence, and a separate buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) licence.

Under the new consumer finance licence, Tabby offers installment plans on purchases above 2,000 SAR, with a financing ceiling of 50,000 SAR and repayment periods of up to 12 months. Its existing BNPL service continues to allow shoppers to split payments across three to four monthly installments with no fees and no interest, historically for purchases up to about 5,000 SAR.

The longer-term plans are structured as Shariah-compliant Murabaha, with a fixed financing cost disclosed upfront, no compounding, and no late fees. Exact costs and any fees are plan-specific and shown to the customer at checkout within Tabby's interface, so there is no single standard fee published publicly.

For consumers, the longer finance plans are currently live at major partner retailers on eligible purchases above 2,000 SAR, including Noon, Fitness Time, Almanea, IKEA, Almosafer, Almatar, and flynas. The SME finance licence, meanwhile, lets Tabby provide working capital to retailers and smaller e-commerce businesses on its platform, targeting firms that may fall below typical commercial-bank thresholds.

The new licences build on Tabby's earlier graduation from SAMA's regulatory sandbox and the BNPL permit granted in 2025. Onboarding, eligibility checks, and contract issuance are handled through Tabby's own app and SAMA-regulated processes. SAMA advises consumers and businesses to check its official website to confirm that Tabby is listed among licensed finance and BNPL companies in the Kingdom.
