The Taif Forum on Camels in Heritage and Media is scheduled for 5–6 September 2026 in Taif, held as part of the events accompanying the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival. The forum is organized by the Saudi Camel Federation under the patronage of the Governor of Taif, Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
the forum aims to highlight the role of camel sports and camels in Saudi heritage, culture, and national identity, and their presence in both traditional and modern media. The two-day program features panel discussions with invited experts and specialists, alongside an interactive exhibition tracing the history, evolution, and social significance of camels in the Kingdom. Activities are planned each day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Held with the Crown Prince Camel Festival
The forum runs in conjunction with the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026 at the historic Taif Camel Square. The eighth edition of the festival takes place from 3 to 13 September 2026, spanning 11 days with morning and evening race sessions and 248 races carrying total prize money exceeding around 50 million SAR.
The festival includes official categories such as Haqayeq, Laqaya, Jadh'a, Thanaya, Heel, Zamoul, and a Camel Riders Race, as well as Arab rounds for non-Gulf Arab member federations. A new Crown Prince Camel Festival Cup for Saudi participants offers a 500,000 SAR prize for the owner with the highest points across the 2026–2027 racing season.
Public attendance at both the forum and the festival is currently advertised as free of charge, with no ticket prices published for spectators. Participation details for panelists, media, and exhibitors are handled through the event organizers and federation channels. For residents and visitors interested in Saudi heritage, the event offers an accessible way to explore the cultural legacy of camels in the Kingdom.
