Saudi Arabia's fiscal revenue climbed to about SAR 338.784 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a rise of 12.3% compared with roughly SAR 301.6 billion in the same period of 2025, Government spending in the same quarter reached about SAR 373.0 billion, an increase of 11% year-on-year.
The higher revenue helped narrow the quarterly budget gap. The Q2 2026 fiscal balance recorded a deficit of about SAR 34.3 billion, an improvement of roughly 0.7% over the deficit posted in the second quarter of 2025.
Oil revenues were the main driver, reaching SAR 185.1 billion, up about 22% year-on-year and around 28% compared with the first quarter of 2026. Non-oil revenues came in at SAR 153.7 billion, up about 3% year-on-year and making up around 45% of total budget revenues. Compared with the first quarter of 2026, total revenues rose by about 29.8%, or roughly SAR 77.8 billion.
Why it matters
These figures are macroeconomic budget aggregates rather than anything linked to individual government e-services. For residents and expats in the Kingdom, a growing share of non-oil revenue reflects the wider push to diversify the economy under national development plans, while continued spending supports ongoing projects and public services. The report offers detailed breakdowns by revenue and expenditure category, in Saudi Riyal millions, for fiscal year 2026 (1447–1448H).
