Umm Al-Qura University, through its Cultural Front (الواجهة الثقافية) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, concluded the first edition of the Enrichment Program for Living Museums on 23 August 2026. The program was hosted at the university's Cultural Center and ran for eight days.
A total of 75 participants took part in the program, receiving 35 hours of enrichment and training. The initiative combined theoretical and practical components centered on heritage and museums, covering the material and immaterial heritage of Makkah alongside skills related to enrichment work and historical sites.
the program aimed to support tourism and culture connected to enrichment and historical sites in Makkah, strengthen heritage knowledge among youth, and raise awareness of preserving cultural and historical heritage. Organizers said the goal was to help transfer this heritage to future generations through educational and interactive methods.
For the community in Makkah and beyond, initiatives like this offer young people a hands-on way to engage with the city's history and its living traditions. By blending classroom learning with practical experience, the program encourages a new generation to value and protect the region's cultural identity.
The program is presented as a university-organized cultural and training event rather than a regular paid academic course, and no participation fees or registration details were specified. Official information about such university programs is available through Umm Al-Qura University's electronic portal and its news and events pages.
