Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026 Adds Arab Rounds

Saudi Camel Sports has announced the addition of Arab rounds for non-Gulf Arab member federations as part of the eighth Crown Prince Camel Festival 2026, set to take place at Taif Camel Square from 3 to 13 September 2026. Official invitations have been issued by the Arab Camel Racing Federation to non-Gulf Arab federations to take part in the Arab rounds and the festival's other competitions.

The Arab rounds will feature races for both human and robotic riders across multiple categories and distances, in line with the standard camel racing classes used at the festival, including Mafarid, Haqqa, Laqaya, Jatha'a, Thanaya, Heil, Zamoul, and Soudaniyat.

The 2026 edition is planned as an 11-day event featuring around 248 races, with a total prize pool exceeding SAR 50 million. A new Crown Prince Camel Festival Cup for Saudi competitors will debut this year, offering a SAR 500,000 prize to the Saudi competitor who earns the highest number of points across the festival races.

The event will be held at Taif Camel Square, the historic Taif Camel Racecourse in Taif Governorate, Makkah Region, with races organized in morning and evening sessions across the festival days. Public entry to the festival is free of charge, with no published ticket fee for spectators.

The expansion to include Arab federations broadens the festival's reach beyond the Gulf, reinforcing Taif's position as a leading venue for camel sports in the region and offering residents and visitors a rich cultural and sporting experience over the 11 days.
