Saudi Handball Cup Draw Sets New Season Fixtures

The Saudi Handball Federation held the cup draw for the new season, setting the stage for the competition with four preliminary matches and four teams handed direct passage to the quarterfinals. The draw was announced on 18 August 2026.

Al-Khaleej, Al-Hedeya, Mudar, and Al-Noor all advanced directly to the quarterfinal round, avoiding the preliminary stage. The remaining teams will battle it out in the opening matches to complete the last-eight lineup.

The preliminary pairings placed Al-Wehda against Al-Khulaidiyah, Al-Qadsiah against Al-Adalah, Al-Jazeera against Al-Fateh, and Al-Hazm against Al-Muhait. The winners of these four ties will join the four seeded clubs in the quarterfinals.

Why it matters

Handball continues to build a steady following across the Kingdom, and the cup competition offers fans in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond an early look at how the new season may unfold. With half the quarterfinal spots already secured, attention now turns to the preliminary clashes that will decide the remaining places.

Fixture dates and venues for the matches are expected to follow, giving supporters the chance to plan for the opening rounds of the season.
