Saudi Arabia will field a delegation of 144 athletes at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the continental multi-sport event scheduled to take place in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026.
The Saudi team will compete across 19 sports during the Games, marking one of the Kingdom's broader participations in the region's biggest sporting gathering. The wide spread of disciplines reflects the growing depth of Saudi talent across a range of individual and team events.
Ahead of the competition, the national delegation will hold a preparation camp in Fuji, Japan, running from 29 August to 3 October 2026. The extended camp is designed to help athletes acclimatize to conditions in Japan and complete their final training phase before stepping onto the continental stage.
Why it matters
The Asian Games are among the most prestigious multi-sport competitions in the world, drawing thousands of athletes from across the continent. A 144-strong Saudi presence signals continued investment in the Kingdom's sporting ambitions and gives fans at home a wide slate of events to follow across nearly three weeks of competition.
For the community in the Kingdom, the Games offer another opportunity to rally behind national athletes as they represent Saudi Arabia on an international platform.
