Plans for a privately led sports development in the Eastern Province are moving forward, with major agreements signed for the Dammam Sports City project during the Sports Investment Forum 2026 in الرياض. The project carries an investment value of SAR 1 billion, roughly equivalent to USD 266–267 million.
The development is led by Dammam Valley Company as the main private-sector partner and project company. The Sharqia (Eastern Province) Development Authority is a party to the agreements as the regional development authority, while the وزارة الاستثمار participates as a signatory and governmental facilitator for the deal.
The project focuses on mixed-use sports infrastructure and a privately backed sports ecosystem. A key component is a new football stadium awarded under an estimated SAR 3.7 billion construction contract, with a capacity of around 45,000 spectators and a site area of about 800,000 square meters. The stadium will be built within the Dammam Sports City area, near the facilities of Al-Ettifaq FC and Al-Nahda Club in الدمام.
The initiative arrives alongside other privately led developments in the city. The New Dammam Project by Adel Real Estate Company is a mixed-use coastal urban destination with committed investments exceeding SAR 18 billion across an area of about 32 million square meters, integrating residential, hospitality, commercial, waterfront, and leisure uses. Separately, the Global City tourism project in الدمام is planned as a large entertainment and tourism destination with total investment near SAR 650 million.
For residents and businesses in the Eastern Province, the combined activity signals expanding sports, leisure, and investment opportunities. Official channels, including the National Center for Privatization & PPP, offer investors access to expression-of-interest documents and PPP tenders for major Dammam projects.
