Eastern Province Blood Donation Campaign Expands in 2026

Saudi Arabia's 2026 annual blood-donation campaign has expanded in the Eastern Province, with four hospitals and a mobile unit now accepting donations. The participating sites are King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, Khafji General Hospital, Jubail General Hospital, and Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Hospital for Blood Diseases in Qatif.

Donation is free of charge, with no fee listed. Donors must present an original national ID, Iqama, or passport at registration. The process includes registration, health and travel questions, a medical-history review, an automated questionnaire, physical checks, hemoglobin screening, and the blood collection itself.

General eligibility requires donors to be between 18 and 65 years old and to weigh at least 50 kilograms. Before donating, participants are advised to eat within the previous three hours and to have slept at least four to six hours. The minimum interval between donations is eight weeks, and donations are limited to five times a year.

Timings

King Fahad Specialist Hospital, Jubail General Hospital, and Khafji General Hospital typically operate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The mobile unit's hours vary depending on where it is deployed, so donors are encouraged to check timings before heading out.

The expansion makes it easier for residents across the Eastern Province to take part, supporting a steady blood supply for patients in need. For eligible residents and expats alike, a single donation can make a real difference to local hospitals and the wider community.
