Saudi Arabia has appointed Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif as the new Minister of Investment, under a royal decree issued by King Salman bin Abdulaziz on 12 February 2026. He succeeds Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih in the post.
Khalid Al-Falih was reassigned as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers. The وزارة الاستثمار now lists Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif as its current minister and the leader of the national investment ecosystem.
Before taking up the role, Al-Saif headed investment strategy and global capital finance at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), giving him extensive experience in capital markets and large-scale investment planning.
The appointment formed part of a broader set of decrees introducing several senior leadership changes, including new ministers and regional governors across the Kingdom.
Why it matters
The وزارة الاستثمار plays a central role in attracting foreign and domestic capital and supporting business growth in line with رؤية السعودية 2030. For residents and expats working in the private sector, the ministry's direction affects the wider investment climate and job opportunities.
As of 24 August 2026, no new fees, user steps, or procedures on platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا are directly associated with this ministerial change.
