Free Saudi Youth Game Dev Camp Opens in Riyadh 2026

A new game development camp will bring Saudi youth into the world of designing and building video games this summer. The Next Gen Games Camp will run from 26 to 30 July 2026 at King Salman Science Oasis in Riyadh, offering 20 educational hours across morning and afternoon sessions. Participation is free of charge.

The camp is open to boys and girls in two tracks: a Junior Track for ages 10 to 13 and a Senior Track for ages 14 to 17. No prior experience in game design or coding is required. Daily sessions run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the afternoon.

From player to game maker

Held under the theme "From Player to Game Maker," the camp is part of a partnership aimed at training young Saudis in game development and integrating game design into STEM education. The intensive, interactive program covers the fundamentals of game design and guides participants from an initial idea to a working game prototype within the 20-hour curriculum.

The experience emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and design thinking through team-based projects, and concludes with a competition for the Best Game created during the camp. Sessions are mixed for male and female students within the specified age ranges.

Seats are limited and enrollment is on a first-come basis. Registration is handled directly through King Salman Science Oasis channels, including its official website and event registration form. For inquiries, families can reach the Oasis by email at info@ks-scienceoasis.org.sa, by phone at 0550630404 or 0114830404, or via the social media handle @Ks_ScienceOasis. The initiative reflects an ongoing effort to develop local talent in one of the region's fastest-growing creative and tech sectors.
