Global Oil Prices Climb About $3 Per Barrel

Global crude oil prices moved higher this period, rising by around $3 The increase reflects shifts in international supply and demand rather than any local fee, tax, or government charge inside Saudi Arabia.

It is important for readers to distinguish between two separate things. The first is the global market price of crude oil, which changes constantly based on international trading. The second is Saudi Aramco's official selling prices, which are the company's export prices set for buyers in different regions. For April 2026, these adjustments included an increase of $2.50 and $2.85

These changes apply to export markets and buyers abroad. They are not a domestic price or a service charge paid by residents in the Kingdom.

What it means for consumers

For households and drivers in Riyadh, Jeddah, and across the Kingdom, domestic fuel prices are set separately from daily global market swings. In April 2026, local pump prices stood at SAR 2.18 SAR 2.33 and SAR 3.83

In short, a roughly $3 rise in the global crude market does not translate into an immediate change at the local petrol station. Higher oil prices can support export revenues, but the amount residents pay at the pump follows its own published schedule rather than moment-to-moment market movements.
