Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Kassabi visited the Jeddah Central Stadium project on 30 August 2026, reviewing construction progress and the different implementation stages of one of the venues designated for the FIFA World Cup 2034.
construction works at the stadium are around 35% complete as of late August 2026. The venue is being built within the sports park area of the Jeddah Central masterplan, with works having begun around February 2024 as part of the project's first phase. Published plans point to an expected opening timeframe near 2027.
A design inspired by Historic Jeddah
The stadium's design draws inspiration from the architecture of Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad), reflecting the city's urban and cultural identity while integrating modern engineering and stadium technologies. It is planned to seat around 45,000 to 45,794 spectators, with a net tournament capacity of about 42,000 seats, alongside dedicated hospitality, skybox, media, VIP and VVIP areas set out in the bid documentation.
Jeddah Central Stadium is one of four venues planned to host World Cup matches in Jeddah, together with King Abdullah Sports City (Al-Jawhara), King Abdullah Economic City Stadium, and Qiddiya Coast Stadium. It is scheduled to stage group stage and Round of 32 matches during the tournament.
The stadium remains under construction, and there are no general-public operations at the venue in 2026. Detailed ticket prices, access fees, parking charges and booking procedures for World Cup 2034 events have not yet been officially announced.
