Ministry of Culture Launches Thaqafati Digital Platform

The Ministry of Culture has launched Thaqafati, a unified digital platform for the cultural sector, unveiled during LEAP 2026. The platform brings all cultural services together in a single online destination, allowing users to access programs and services through one account and one interface.

Thaqafati is designed as an integrated system that connects the cultural sector's various sub-sectors within a single digital experience. It serves as the Ministry's main gateway for cultural services and acts as an umbrella that links and coordinates the specialized services and licensing systems operating under the Ministry.

the platform aims to streamline and unify procedures, improve service quality, raise the efficiency of the sector's digital operations, and offer individuals, institutions, and cultural practitioners a clearer and smoother digital journey.

Licensing continues through Abde'a

The specialized Abde'a (Cultural Licenses Platform) remains the dedicated channel for cultural permits and licenses, covering 41 types such as private museums, art galleries, cinema operation, traditional restaurant registration, and performance theaters. Establishments, Saudi citizens, and residents use it to submit electronic applications, upload required documents, and obtain approvals to practice cultural activities professionally under standardized procedures.

Thaqafati is presented as part of the Ministry's broader digital-transformation effort for the cultural sector and operates as a dedicated sectoral platform rather than through general government hubs. As of 2026, detailed public schedules of service fees in Saudi Riyal, validity periods for individual services, and step-by-step application procedures through the platform have not yet been published.
