New Initiative to Train 900 Saudis for Media Careers

A new strategic partnership has been announced to train 900 Saudi job seekers, both men and women, for technical and specialized careers in the media sector. The initiative, revealed in February 2026, brings together the Human Resources Development Fund and the SPA Academy for News Training to prepare qualified Saudi talent for roles in private-sector media establishments.

The programs are designed to strengthen the technical and creative skills of participants in step with the fast-changing media industry. Each training track runs for 12 months and covers specialized media career days for different professions, English-language programs tailored to media and communications, and professional certification programs across multiple media fields.

the initiative aims to raise the professional standard of media work in the Kingdom and improve overall media performance. It also supports the growth of the private sector by supplying it with qualified national personnel, in line with the human capital development goals of Vision 2030.

Why it matters

For Saudi job seekers hoping to enter journalism, media production, and communications, the initiative offers structured, hands-on qualification rather than general study. The focus on English-language skills and professional certifications is intended to make participants more competitive in a sector increasingly shaped by new technologies.

The launch comes amid broader momentum in Saudi media training during 2026, including new academy programs covering journalism, technology and artificial intelligence, leadership and media ethics, alongside dedicated bootcamps focused on AI-driven media tools and detecting manipulated content.

Public information on the initiative does not yet specify participant fees or a step-by-step online application process. Implementation is being carried out through the Human Resources Development Fund and the SPA Academy for News Training, with further details expected through their official channels.
