The Ministry of Tourism has launched a new Unified Tourism Services Platform at LEAP 2026, creating a single digital hub that brings together the sector's key services in one place. The platform is aimed at tourism investors, establishments, professionals, and sector employees rather than general travelers booking flights or hotels.
Through the platform, users can access tourism licensing services — including new licenses, renewals, and updates for tourism establishments — alongside regulatory compliance and inspection services, investment services for tourism projects, and training and professional development programs for the workforce. It also groups other digital tourism services offered by the Ministry.
The main goal is to replace multiple separate channels with a single unified interface, streamlining procedures and cutting processing time for users. The platform integrates an AI assistant called "Tourism X" that helps users locate services, answer questions, and navigate the system.
The Ministry's main website (mt.gov.sa) remains the primary channel for news, initiatives, regulations, and general information, while the new platform serves as the main transactional hub for sector services. The unified services are being digitally integrated with other government and sectoral stakeholders across the tourism ecosystem to enable smoother data and process flows.
A companion mobile application, Tourism.sa – The Tourism App, is presented as the unified app for tourism sector services, offering licensing, classification, compliance, investment, training, and capability development, plus news and statistics, with the same TourismX AI support.
Why it matters
For businesses and workers in the tourism sector, consolidating licensing, compliance, and investment services into one platform is intended to reduce paperwork and speed up approvals. The launch is part of the Ministry's broader digital tourism strategy and AI vision, which also includes tools such as the MT Developer Portal, Smart Inspector, and Smart Check-In to improve operational efficiency across the sector.
